1. When and where will the Rotary Institute 2026 take place?
The Rotary Institute 2026 will be held from 18th to 20th December 2026 at City of Dreams, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Past, Present, and Incoming District Governors and Rotary International Officers.

18th December: Formal Business Attire or Lounge

GELS/GNLS
6. When and where will the GELS and GNLS programs take place?
The GELS and GNLS programs will be conducted from 14th (Monday) to 17th (Thursday) December 2026.
• 14th (Monday) to 16th (Wednesday) – Morning: Beach resort approximately 1.5 hours from Colombo
• 16th (Wednesday) – Evening to 17th (Thursday): City of Dreams, Colombo
7. How many nights of accommodation are GELS / GNLS participants entitled to?
Four (4) nights of accommodation from 14th - 17th December, with check-out on Friday, 18th December 2026.
ADJUNCT SEMINARS
8. When and where are the adjunct seminars held?
Adjunct seminars will be held on 17th December 2026 from morning hours at City of Dreams, Colombo.

• Rotaract Seminar (for Past, Present & Incoming DRRs)
9. When and where will the TRF Seminar & TRF Dinner be held?
The TRF Dinner will be held on 17th December 2026 (evening) at City of Dreams, Colombo. The TRF Seminar will not be held.
ACCOMMODATION & AIRPORT TRANSFERS
10. Are airport pick-up and drop-off services arranged?
Yes. Airport transfers will be arranged for registered delegates staying at the official hotel, City of Dreams, Colombo, booked through the official Rotary Institute 2026 website. https://rotaryinstitute2026srilanka.com/
11. Can delegates check in earlier than the standard hotel check-in time?
Standard hotel check-in time in Sri Lanka is 2:00 PM (14:00). Early check-in is subject to availability.
12. Are medical facilities available near the venue?
Yes. Colombo has internationally accredited private hospitals including Nawaloka, Asiri Central, Lanka Hospitals, and Durdans.
13. Will sightseeing or shopping tours be arranged for spouses?
A half-day Colombo city tour will be organised only for spouses on 19th December 2026 from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM, including lunch.

14. What will the weather be like during the Institute in Colombo?
Warm and pleasant weather with temperatures ranging from 23°C to 31°C will be prevalent in Colombo.
15. What is the visa process for Sri Lanka?
All visitors must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) online prior to travel. WWW.ETA.GOV.LK
16. What currency is used in Sri Lanka and how can payments be made?
The Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR) is the local currency. Cards are widely accepted in cities and hotels.
17. What languages are spoken in Sri Lanka?
Sinhala and Tamil are the primary local languages. English is widely spoken.
18. Is Sri Lanka safe for visitors?
Sri Lanka welcomed over 2.3 million visitors in 2025.
19. What type of plug points are available in SL ?
Electricity is 230V, 50Hz. Bring a universal adapter; power interruptions sometimes occur in certain areas.
